Laser Hair Removal Rugby

Clients at Renatus Clinic have seen remarkable results after treatments with their Cynosure Elite laser hair removal machine.  The Alexandrite and Nd YAG wavelengths are considered Gold Standard for laser hair removal, not to be compared to IPL (Intense Pulse Light) systems generally found in beauty salons.  Clients have been coming from Rugby, Coventry, Kenilworth and Leamington for treatments as the prices are very reasonable and as they only have to visit around once a month.

The laser has the two wavelengths so the practitioner can choose the correct one for the skin type, the laser is safe to use on fair and dark skin types.  The lasers will only treat hair which has a degree of pigment present, it works best on black or brown hairs.  Unfortunately, red, grey or white hairs do not respond to the laser, you will be informed during your consultation if you are suitable for laser hair removal treatment.  A test patch is performed to ensure that the client has no adverse reaction to the laser.  All being well treatment can commence after 4-5 days.

Hair grows at different rates on different parts of the body, and all hair has different cycles.  The laser targets the melanin in the hair follicle, it is most effective in the early Anagen Phase (growth stage).  This is the reason why a course of laser hair removal treatments are needed as only some of the hairs treated are going to be in the Anagen Phase and be damaged by the laser.  Depending on the area treated, around 4-6 weeks is then left before the next treatment to catch more hairs in the next Anagen Phase.  Maximum results are achieved after the laser hair removal course is completed.

At Renatus Clinic situated between Rugby and Coventry and within easy reach of Leamington Spa we use the Alexandrite, 755nm wavelength laser which is suitable for all fairer skin types.  The laser penetrates deep into tissue (3-5mm) damaging the three parts responsible for hair regrowth, the bulge, the bulb and the vascular supply.

The Nd YAG, 1064nm wavelength laser is suitable for darker skin types and is safe to use on Asian or Afro-Caribbean skin.  The laser penetrates deeper than the Alexandrite up to 6mm, again damaging the bulge, bulb and vascular supply.  Asian skin types can find the skin can darken after hair removal treatments with IPL’s, some lasers or after waxing, the Nd YAG wavelength used at Renatus Clinic is gentle and does not darken the skin.  With visible results after just one laser hair removal treatment it is no wonder clients are back for more.

Renatus Clinic offer free laser hair removal consultations which includes a test patch, so there has never been a better time to start treatments and head towards a hair free Summer.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs

▾   Does the laser treatment hurt?

Everyone’s pain levels are different, the treatment can make some clients feel uncomfortable. It feels rather like an elastic band snapping against the skin.

▾   Is the laser treatment permanent?

The laser will never get rid of every hair in the treatment area, clients can expect up to a 60% reduction in the hair. The remaining hair will appear finer, more sporadic and sometimes lighter in colour. Top-up treatments 3-4 times a year are recommended to maintain the results.

▾   Are the results immediate?

The hairs do not fall out straight away, some will start to fall out generally 2-3 weeks after treatment.

▾   How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments required can differ from patient to patient, generally 8 sessions are needed to achieve optimum results at 4-6 weekly intervals.
